About William

Dr. De Herder is a Lecturer III in the Program in Technical Communication in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. Previously, he worked as the assistant director of the Michigan Technological University Multiliteracies Center. There, Dr. De Herder taught classes in technical communication, advanced composition, and multiliteracies pedagogy. As the director of the SVSU Writing Center, he also taught first year writing, critical writing, and honors students. Dr. De Herder’s scholarly work has explored connections between technical communication, social justice, writing center studies, cultural studies, and articulation theory.
