About Lee

Lee Hibbard (he/they) is a Lecturer III in the Program in Technical Communication at the University of Michigan. Before moving to Ann Arbor, they spent three years at the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Brittain Postdoctoral fellow, where they taught technical communication courses for Computer Science and other STEM-affiliated majors. He has been teaching at the college level since 2013 and has prior work experience in both corporate healthcare and academic libraries.

His research interests in digital rhetoric’s, archival practice, queer theory, and game studies align with his student-centered teaching approach, which is informed by best practices for ensuring readiness for life beyond undergraduate education. They have published research related to podcasting, tabletop roleplaying games, and compassionate pedagogical techniques for undergraduates.
